Joe is a national expert in bicycle and pedestrian facility design with over 23 years of experience in pedestrian, bicycle, and Complete Street projects. He has provided project oversight and quality control for Complete Street projects in communities varying in size across North America. Joe has been delivering technical trainings as a core part of his career since 2012 for many different types of clients and organizations. In 2023, Joe decided to create a company dedicated to providing high-quality and enjoyable training experiences. Joe is certified as both a NACTO Certified Trainer and as a National Highway Institute (NHI) certified trainer. In December 2023, Joe was named an "Instructor of Excellence" by NHI.

Through Joe’s project work working with communities nationwide and with FHWA and NACTO in developing national level design guidance, Joe has an intimate understanding of existing federal standards and design guidance. This experience allows Joe to field nearly any question within training contexts and to be able to cite applicable project experiences to illustrate key points.
